From February 2001, I really liked this song but I wasn't ever able to capture a recording that I thought did it justice. This is the best I came up with.
This is a little ditty about being a secret superhero. It was always fun to play live, as it ends with a build up that goes nowhere.
lyrics
Metamorphosis in a phone booth on the darker side of the road
Verily, verily and forsooth, rise under a heavy load
A-pluckin' the cosmic banjo with a couple of grubby hands
One hand solo in Harry's son's Ford goes exactly as I planned
No one knows about my secret life
I'm fighting crime in the sky
I'm telling you 'cause I trust you and I know you'll toe the line
'Cause I know your thoughts before you do every second and all the time
Grind your Pappy to a stump, wipe the smile off your Mama's face
Nice suit, man. But mine's the trump, and I'll vanish without a trace
