There was a flophouse full of Welfare skateboarders a couple of doors down from the Wigghut at Clark and E 10th Ave in Vancouver. They had 2 dogs. Bear was a large junkyard dog, and Kimo was a smaller dog that one of the hippies had brought back in a van from San Francisco. She used to sit with the dog on her lap eating blotter like candy. I'm pretty sure the dog got some also, as he was a little off.
Speaking of which, one smoky afternoon, Bear got a look in his eye and mounted up on Kimo. Unperturbed, Kimo kept snuffling around in an empty chip bag as Bear hooked him under the shoulders to violate his forehead. Under the circumstances, it was particularly funny and worthy of a lounge song.
